Dallas Unity String Orchestra is an all volunteer performing organization created so that amateur to professional level string musicians have an opportunity to make music with other musicians simply for the joy of doing so.
We rehearse from 7:00pm - 9:30pm every other Monday starting August 3rd - December for our first concert.
We rehearse at two locations currently: Royal Lane Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas and sometimes we rehearse at New Vida Church of God in Southwest Dallas.
Our Season consists of two concerts: A Winter Concert and a Spring Concert. In addition to the concerts, we present several "Recital Hour's" featuring solo ensemble groups from our current season musicians. We also perform at the Galleria Mall, and are looking for future events to spread our love of music to new audiences.
Membership in our orchestra family requires a playing demonstration in lieu of an actual audition. This helps our director and section leaders know where your current skill level is, and if we will be a good fit for you. A playing demonstration simply includes a 3 octave scale of choice, one-two minutes of a piece of music that you feel shows off your playing skills, and we will have you do some sight reading.
We ask that your skill level be equivalent to 4-6+ years of playing.
The music we perform ranges from a late high school intermediate up to professional level string pieces.
Our goal is to have you enjoy playing, and becoming apart of our musical family!
